Canada to quarantine travelers, suspend flights south

TORONTO (AP) — Primary Minister Justin Trudeau on Friday declared stricter limits on tourists in reaction to new, most likely more contagious variants of the novel coronavirus — which includes producing it mandatory for vacationers to quarantine in a resort at their have expense when they get there in Canada and suspending airline support to Mexico and all Caribbean destinations till April 30.

COVID-19 Response Minister Chris Hipkins said Thursday that as an interim measure, travelers would need to stay in their hotel rooms for the final days of their 14-day mandatory quarantine, and would also face stricter controls around leaving their rooms at other times.
