Transportation Canada has cleared the Boeing 737 Max plane to resume carrying commercial passengers on Jan. 21.
The Canadian government on Monday lifted the ban on industrial flights by the plane as of midnight on Wednesday. The design has been grounded considering that March, 2019, following two fatal crashes in five months killed 346 folks in Indonesia and Ethiopia.
“This will allow for the return to company of the aircraft in Canada,” Transport Canada reported in a statement on Monday.
The aircraft was cleared to return to support in the United States in November.
WestJet beforehand reported it prepared to fly the Max on Jan. 21.
